badwithnames has been a St. Petersburg, Florida area band for several years. Our music is, of course, drawn from several influences, which is quite evident on the new CD. We invite you to have a listen and enjoy what we describe as positive energy rock ’n roll music.
The band is Dave Girard (vocals), Andrew Kraus (lead guitar), Patrick O’heaney (drums, percussion, keys) J.P. Kiesel (bass), and Josh Badgley (rhythm guitar). The process for our song writing is completely collaborative. All voices are heard and all ideas are tried. Dave is the main lyricist in the band, as he has a very creative poetry sense which he implements quite well. Original riffs and shells of the songs are usually introduced by Josh. The meat and potatoes such as structure and creative ideas are then often added by Pat, J.P., and Andrew. Pat is an excellent drummer who always plays what the song needs. His drumming is an array of power, technical skill, and dynamics. He has a great ear for music and is very good at song structure. J.P. is an "in the pocket machine." Never does he overplay (unless we’re talking), and he is always imaginative while shoring up the rhythm section. The cherry on top is the tasty ripping solos by Andrew…always perfectly placed and memorable. Inspired, I’m sure by the waves of the ocean, he compliments Josh’s riffs with impressive notes to get us all pumped.
